• China’s rapid domestic economic expansion has been the engine of global demand growth.

• The US has been the doorkeeper for global dollar liquidity that has greased the wheels of economic activity.

The demise of the dollar remains a distant possibility for now but China’s struggles, on the other hand, appear to be gaining momentum.
